  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 egg

  • 2 or 3 tablespoons light or dark brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons walnuts or pecans, roughly chopped

  • Butter, for greasing the dish

Tip

Use a neutral oil, such as canola oil, vegetable oil, grapeseed oil, or light olive oil. These options have a mild flavor that won't overpower the banana bread. You can also use melted butter.

1. Prepare the liquid ingredients

Preheat the oven to 375‌°‌ ‌F. Grease a mini loaf dish or large ramekin (about 14 or 16 oz.) with oil or butter.

Peel the banana and place it in a bowl. Mash it with a fork.
